Ruth Burnett Sport Fish Hatchery
The Ruth Burnett Sport Fish Hatchery is a state-of-the-art hatchery facility located in Fairbanks Alaska, owned and operated by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Sport Fish. Fish produced at the hatchery reduce pressure on wild fish stocks, increase sport-fishing opportunities, and provide diversity in sport fisheries throughout Interior Alaska. The Ruth Burnett Sport Fish Hatchery produces rainbow trout, Arctic char, coho and Chinook salmon for stocking in over 125 landlocked lakes throughout the Interior.
William Jack Hernandez Sport Fish Hatchery
The William Jack Hernandez Hatchery is located at 941 N. Reeve Blvd. Anchorage, AK 99501 on the corner of Reeve Blvd. and Post Road. Visitors are welcome to drop by. Winter hours of operation from October 1st through April 30th are Monday - Friday, between 8:00am - 4:00pm, closed weekends. Group tours on weekends may be accommodated by advanced appointment only. To inquire please fill out a tour request. Summer visitor hours are 7 days a week 10AM-4PM. Guided tours during summer hours are available Tuesday-Saturday 10AM-3PM. Schedule online through the link above. We encourage visitors to get a firsthand look inside one of the most advanced sport fish production facilities in the nation. Adult salmon are commonly seen from the on-site footpath along Ship Creek July through October.
